Presentation

We want to conduct experiment in the case of very complex environments, that is environment of very large size, with several levels and when people use map information in order to plan their path.
This project will study more particularly the kinesthetic contribution to the spatial memory. Virtual Reality associated with real environment experiments (using motion capture in large field), will allow to better understand the role of kinesthetic information in the spatial memory. We want to describe the contribution of prior cartographic information on navigation. We will compare navigation into virtual reality and real reality in a nuclear power plant.

Keywords: Spatial memory, prior effect, kinesthetics, complex environments.
